Great experience with the team at Mariner Plumbing throughout the entire process. Everything was so smooth from scheduling the appointment to notification of the technician being dispatched to the house to explaining all the details of the work he performed. Tony, our technician, was amazing. I highly recommend Mariner Plumbing for any needs you may have. Brian

Best plumbing experience I’ve ever had (after many other rough experiences with other companies). Jacob was prompt, professional, and made sure we knew what was happening. 10/5 stars - would absolutely recommend!!!

Wow. The worst experience (though read the "edit" at the end for the good customer service I received following the review). After changing out a backflow preventer to swap out a toilet, the backflow preventer was leaking. I figured it was an old o-ring. I put in a call. The guy showed up the next day (which was fine, it was a holiday and I called in the evening). Without looking inside it in any way or diagnosing anything about what was wrong, the guy tells me the backflow preventer is old, a "kit" to repair would take over a week, and the only realistic offer he made was to install a new one for about 2,000 plus having someone come out and certify it. Sensing I was being taken for a ride and having a hard time believing that something simple like maybe a bad o-ring rendered the thing UNREPAIRABLE (especially since he didn't even look at it), I told him no thanks, and he was stunned and kept trying to talk to me. Told me he was licensed, his license cost 2K, and if I called the competition, they'd tell me the same thing and charge around $3,500. Well, I called C&C Plumbing who said my backflow preventer was the most common type (from texting a photo before they came), and that parts are easily available in town. They arrived in an hour, it took NO PARTS and just had a gasket blown out of position when I turned it on too fast, so he just popped it back into place and readjusted the screw and made sure there was no debris), and he charged me for an hour of labor and was as nice as can be. EDIT: After this was posted, I received a polite and professional call from Mariner apologizing for my experience, assuring me that this was not how they do business, and making quick geniune offers to still change out the hardware at no expense. He concurred that the backflow preventer was a common model and parts were almost certainly in stock and available. He did think it was possible that if something came loose, it could be a sign that there's wear and tear, which is why he offered to install a new one personally (the owner) at no expense. While my experience was a bad one, you can't ask for a more sincere effort to make something right. From what I gather, the experience was not a symptom of bad business culture or a way of doing business for them, so...you have my blessing, if you're reading this, to call them and give them a go. There are certainly many pleased reviews.

I had an issue with a leaking relief valve and contacted Mariner Plumbing for repair. Their technician came, fixed the issue, and charged $1,000. However, the relief valve began leaking again shortly afterward. Instead of properly addressing the problem, the technician claimed that the water heater was the cause and provided a quote of around $3,000 to replace it. This time, I decided to get a second opinion and called another plumbing company. Their technician resolved the issue within five minutes and explained that the original plumber had simply failed to adjust the relief valve settings correctly. I had to pay again for this repair, even though the initial work from Mariner Plumbing was supposedly covered under warranty. The Mariner plumber refused to fix the problem unless I agreed to replace the water heater. I do not recommend this company at all. Their service was poor, and they tried to pressure me by exaggerating potential issues with my home. When I left a comment about the experience, Jacob, the owner, called and said he would come to inspect the issue, but he never showed up—even after two weeks. Update: However, after I left a comment regarding my experience, Jacob, the owner, contacted me and later came to inspect the situation personally. He followed up and made things right, and I appreciate him taking the time to address the issue and ensure it was resolved properly.
